Code Violations
You have been just notified that your property has code violations, What's a code violation?" It's worked fine before and I had no problems why me?" If you have ever been notified of a code violation I'm sure the above question has come up but the truth of the matter is the codes enforced by Florida Cities and Counties are for your protection!! The Uniform Plumbing Code has been adopted as their plumbing code. Each city may make addendum's to the code depending on their city's requirements.
The Uniform Plumbing Code is a set of MINIMUM standards set forth by building officials through out the nation to protect your health and safety. For instance, take the trap under your kitchen sink as an example of how city codes protect you.. The P-trap is not there to trap your wedding ring when it falls down the drain but to prevent sewer gases from entering your home. Sewer gas doesn't just make you nauseous but can carry disease and even kill. The code also requires the trap to be a minimum of 17 gauge thick. This protects your pocket book by preventing inferior products being installed.
